Muscat: To humanise local cities and implement service projects that meet the standards of modern urban cities, the Muscat Municipality is working on Al Nahdha walkway in the Wilayat of Al-Amerat in Muscat.
The project comprises a walkway and a bicycle path, both 1,200 metres in length. The 5-metre wide walkway and the 3-metre wide bicycle path are separated by a 2-metre wide landscaping. The project also includes some sites designated for mobile vendors and paved parking lots. The place will be lit by 70 lighting poles.
The project is an attempt to exploit public spaces with projects that promote sports and physical health, and to beautify the area in accordance with modern concepts in city management and planning, while taking into account the need to accommodate mobile vendors.
The project is the third-of-its -kind in Al-Amerat, the others being the Al-Muhajj walkway and the linear park in the fifth zone.
A sustainable city takes into account the concepts of habitat by providing the components of projects that serve multiple purposes of community members, and thus achieve a healthy and safe city with the elements of prosperity and sustainability that serve all visitors and residents of the governorate.
