Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is chairing the 20th meeting of the Institutional Capacity Building Committee affiliated to the Arab Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).
The three-day meeting, held via video-conferencing, discusses a variety of issues, including the outcome of this year’s training programmes of ARABOSAI committees’ action plan (2022), an assessment report on the committee's meetings between 2019 and 2021 and a briefing about a consultation meeting held to draft ARABOSAI strategic plan through 2023-2028.
The meeting reviews ARABOSAI training project for the period 2023-2025 and the organisation’s capacity building project on communicating with stakeholders to establish the concept of institutional independence.
The committee discusses ARABOSAI e-learning plan, the organisation’s Operation Plan 2023 and opportunities for holding a training meeting on 'compliance control'. It also explores the activities of think tanks tasked with introducing new audit techniques fit for exceptional conditions, as well as the organization's plan on monitoring extractive industries.
