Muscat: In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Oxy Oman representatives recently attended the sponsorship signing ceremony for the Oman Science Festival, which the company will support as a Gold Sponsor. The Oman Science Festival is a biennial six-day exhibition that will be held in October 2022, and targets over 200,000 school students and other community members from all over the Sultanate. The Festival will host scientific workshops, lectures, interactive corners, and showcases for all age groups, under the organization of the Ministry of Education.
The signing event was held at the Ministry of Education, under the auspices H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education. Mr. Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, and H.E. Dr. Ambusaidi signed the sponsorship agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The Oman Science Festival will be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center, and is expected to host booths and activities from over 80 government and private sector organizations. Festival visitors and participants will have the opportunity to join competitions and interactive events on programming, robotics, hackathons, drone technology, and other emerging technologies. Oxy Oman will also host a company booth showcasing company achievements in technology and energy, with interactive educational experiences for youth.
