Tropical depression forms in Arabian Sea

Muscat: A tropical depression has formed in the Arabian Sea region, centered 600 km from Ras Al Hadd in the south of Al Sharqiyah.

The Directorate General of Meteorology said: "The latest satellite images show the center of the tropical depression in the northeast of the Arabian Sea at latitude 22.2 north and longitude 65.4 east, and the wind speed around the center is estimated from 17 to 27 knots, and the center of the depression is about 600 km away from Ras Al Hadd, south Al Sharqiyah Governorate."

The forecast predicts a movement of the depression towards the northwest along the Pakistani coast and opportunities for a later movement towards the coast of Oman, where the effects are likely to begin gradually from tomorrow, Saturday, August 13, 2022, and continue for several days to come.
