38,513 students apply through unified admission system

Muscat: A total of 38,513 male and female students successfully applied through the unified admission system. The time given for change of students’ interests for the academic year 2022/2023 ended on Monday, where students had the opportunity for amending their study programmes.

For the start of personal interviews and Admission tests for the academic year 2022/2023, the Unified Admission Centre at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced via its website and its social media accounts the schedule for conducting personal interviews, admission tests and medical examinations for the study programme as a step for conducting such tests from Sunday 7 August to Thursday 11 August.

Students can acquaint through the schedule with each study programme as per the venue and timing set by the educational institutions and the contact details of institutions, provided that students present the institutions with copies of their general education diploma certificate or its equivalent, original ID card and the documents and other requirements stipulated for each study programme.

Nearly 4,000 students would be nominated for 1,317 seats in 44 study programmes. The Unified Admission Centre will send SMS to the candidates for the tests and personal interviews. Students may also access their registration page in the Unified Admission System in order to acquaint with the result of nomination.  

Some study programme of the higher education establishments stipulate certain skills such as health and physical fitness, drawing skills and other skills.

Nomination of students dep[ends on the order of their choices of the study programmes in the system and the number of nominees for each programme, however, nomination does not mean admission to the programme which is established on the results of personal interviews, tests or medical examinations (set by the higher education establishment) and the number of available seats and the student’s grade compared to other students.

The results of the first sorting out would be on Wednesday 17 August.
