Rumours of emergency, evacuation of residents dismissed

Muscat: The National Committee for Emergency Management (NCEM), has denied rumours circulated in social media platforms about the declaring of an emergency and evacuation of residents near the coasts in the Wilayats of Seeb and Barka.

"There is no truth about what is being circulated about declaring a state of emergency and evacuating residents near the coasts. We confirm that the sub-committees for emergency management  are in continuous session until the end of the expected effects of the tropical depression,” NCEM said in a statement.
