Muscat: The 8th edition of the Oman Desert Marathon, a 165 km four-stage desert self-sufficient race will be held in the Sultanate of Oman, confirms January 21 to 24th 2023 dates.
With an average high temperature of 25 degrees during the day, and an average low temperature of 17.3 at night, January offers to the participants of the Oman Desert Marathon the perfect conditions to enjoy the race to the fullest.
The Oman Desert Marathon is a race held since 2013, has now run up seven previous editions and in 2023 presents a 165-kilometre route in four stages through one of the most spectacular deserts in the world. The course in which the sand is present in every stage, offers the discovery of a very rich country in culture and landscape, while still being a tough challenge for those who want to enjoy a race through the desert.
In this next edition, the stage distances will be 47, 55, 42 and 21 kilometres, thus offering the runners a spectacular route, an epic stage of 55 kilometres followed by a marathon distance, and a more relaxed last day for a good end to the party.
After the last edition in 2019, in which the brothers Rachid and Mohammed El Morabity stood on the first step of the podium, and the stoppage due to the pandemic, when the 10km, 5km and 2km sprints were held for the first time in 2020 - and still remain on the programme - the Oman Desert Marathon will be back strong this coming January, also offering races for locals, residents and companions of the international participants and, if possible, an even better experience for all!
See you in January in the Omani desert!
