Muscat: With the announcement of the CBSE class X results recently, Aman Saji of Indian School Sohar, has become the Oman topper with a phenomenal score of 99.8 per cent. The second position is claimed by Keziah Mariam Koshy Varghese of Indian School Al Maabela at 99.6 per cent. Abhinav Sunil Prasad of Indian School Salalah claims the third position with 99.4 per cent.
In a statement by Indian Schools Oman, Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman – Board of Directors said, “As a system, Indian Schools in Oman have been implementing various measures to provide academic assistance, over and above the classroom lessons while placing equal emphasis on their overall health and wellbeing. We shall continue to strengthen the core academics and competence of our children, and are proud to achieve higher milestones in each passing year. Congratulations to all the children, parents and their schools for their hard work and efforts,” said Dr. Manickam.
Explaining the teaching philosophy, he said, “Every child who seeks admission finds a place irrespective of academic performance. Teachers made persistent efforts to enhance the academic levels of children by providing remedial and additional coaching on off days and evening hours in order to compensate for the learning loss due to Covid.”
A total number of 1,859 students appeared for the Class XII and 2,459 students appeared for Class X CBSE examinations held this year.
