Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman ship "Shabab Oman II" opened its doors to receive visitors and for those having interest in sailing ships, during its docking at the port of Antwerp in the Kingdom of Belgium, the Oman News Agency said.
Annelies Verlinden, Federal Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Belgium, a number of ambassadors of brotherly and friendly countries, diplomats residing in the Kingdom of Belgium, and a number of businessmen visited the ship.
The ship's captain welcomed the visitors in the presence of Najim bin Sulaiman Al Abri, Oman's ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and head of its mission to the European Union. A number of diplomatic staff at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Kingdom of Belgium were present on the occasion.
This comes as part of the ship’s participation in the second phase of the Long Dhow Racing Festival 2022 in Antwerp, Kingdom of Belgium. The Belgium Minister and the attendees listened to a briefing about the sixth international voyage of the ship “Oman, the Land of Peace”. The Minister and visitors were introduced to the facilities on the second Oman Youth Ship and its training programmes and tourist attractions in the Sultanate of Oman.
