Wadi Ka’a Dam a big attraction for tourists

Mirbat: Wadi Ka’a Dam in the Wilayat of Mirbat is one of the projects executed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for development and sustainability of water resources in Dhofar Governorate.

Ali bin Bakhit Bait Said, Director of Water Resourcs Department at the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate said that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources accords due attention and care to the surface water projects as to reduce the use of underground water by establishing 13 dams at different areas in Dhofar Governorate.

He said that Wadi Ka’a Dam, which is 45 metres in length and the height of eight metres was established in 2019 and is one of the dams for storage of surface water at the villages in mountainous areas in the Governorate.  

The storage capacity of the dam is 2,016 cubic metre, he said adding that  the water is used for domestic purposes at the villages close to the dam.

It is worth mentioning that Wadi Ka’a in the Wilayat of Mirbat is one of four wadis associated with Wadi Al Ain Al Kabir and is located 25 kilometres from the centre of the Wilayat of Mirbat.
