RAFO showcases Omani heritage at British airshow

London: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) concluded on Sunday its participation in the International airshow, which is being held at Fairford Air Force Base in the United Kingdom. The airshow, started on the 15th of this month.

Participating through its pavilion in the private exhibition included the display of aircraft, in addition to holding of the accompanying exhibition, which included a number of different sections that embody aspects of development and modernisation of the Royal Air Force of Oman, and highlighted the Omani-British historical relations, and the various elements that the Sultanate of Oman enjoys, in addition to a model of an Omani tent that reflected an aspect of rich heritage and authentic history of Oman.

The participation of a group of the Royal Air Force Music ensemble presented a variety of musical performances to visitors.

One of the pilots of the Royal Air Force of Oman said: β€œIt was an opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about everything new in the field of aviation, especially since this international exhibition is attended by a large number of participating countries and different aircraft, and the participation of the Royal Air Force of Oman through its one of the aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman.”

Another Royal Air Force of Oman officer explained that since the opening of the international airshow on the 15th of this month, it has witnessed a great turnout of visitors from different countries of the world, and the RAFO had a large share of these visits. Visitors were acquainted closely with the Sultanate of Oman and its ancient culture and history, in addition to the various tourism components and the military capabilities of the Royal Air Force of Oman, through the various sections contained in the exhibition.’

It is worth noting that the International Airshow is one of the largest military air exhibitions in the world, in terms of the number of aircraft and participating countries.
