HM's visit to Germany makes history

Muscat: His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign, said that the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Federal Republic of Germany is historic and starts a new phase of Omani-German relations.

His Excellency said in a statement to Oman News Agency: "The summit talks held by HM with His Excellency President Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany dealt with broad topics and upcoming areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially with regard to new clean energy and green hydrogen, and deepening partnership in a number of vital areas such as transport, education, food, water and health security, and enhancing tourism and cultural cooperation.”

His Excellency added: "On the political level, the discussions witnessed a consensus on many issues and developments on the regional and international arenas, based on the two sides' interest in humanitarian efforts, and everything that would contribute to achieving and stabilising security, peace and stability throughout the world."
