Mercedes-Benz Oman appoints new GM for passenger cars

Muscat: Mercedes-Benz Oman announced the appointment of Scott Shears as its new General Manager for passenger cars. A veteran within the automotive industry, Scott has been with Mercedes-Benz since 1996. He comes to Oman from his previous position as the General Manager at a Mercedes-Benz retailer in Victoria, Canada.
With more than 22 years of experience with the iconic luxury vehicle brand, Scott brings with him a unique perspective with experience working for both the manufacturer and in retail. Throughout this time, he has worked in a variety of roles including sales, after sales, product marketing, network development and as a Regional Manager for Mercedes-Benz.

Not only does he have a reputation for delivering results and accomplishing challenging goals, with notable achievements in different parts of the business, but this success has been demonstrated in roles across three international markets,” said Lawrence Good, Mercedes-Benz Oman CEO. “It is this level of excellence that we strive to exhibit as we work to de-liver only the best to our customers.”
An accomplished Management Executive, his experience gained in the premium, luxury automotive business includes the last seven years as General Manager for a Mercedes-Benz retailer in Western Canada. In this position, the dealership witnessed significant success including winning Mercedes-Benz Star Dealer of the Year for 2015 and 2016.

A business and finance graduate from De Montfort University, Scott further developed his learning with a postgraduate Marketing Diploma in the UK and an MBA from Manchester Business School and the University of Melbourne, Australia. He relocates to Muscat with his wife and three sons.
