Muscat: Some basic services related to communication such as automated teller machines for banks and the movement of communications for mobile phones have been restored in Musandam after a disruption that occurred on Thursday, 30 June, 2022, said the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in coordination with the concerned telecommunications companies, continues the process of repairing the fault in one of the submarine fiber optic cables, which affected telecommunication services in the Musandam Governorate.
The authority has managed to restore some basic services related to telecommunications, such as automated teller machines for banks and telecommunications traffic for mobile phones, by providing possible alternatives in coordination with telecommunications companies.
TRA clarifies that work is currently underway to fix the malfunction that occurred on Thursday, with the efforts of specialists in the authority and companies working in this field, in the hope that the telecommunications service will be fully restored in the Musandam Governorate soon.
