During the ceremony, Service Medal of the Order of St John was consecrated

London: A ceremony was held in London to pay tribute to the memory of late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour.

During the ceremony, Service Medal of the Order of St John was consecrated. This medal was conferred on late Sultan Qaboos in 1984 by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth in recognition of the late Sultan’s support to hospitals, medical services and healthcare all over the world.

The Sultan Qaboos Standard was raised during the ceremony, which was held at St Paul's Cathedral in London amid a grandeur procession.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Princess Anne, and Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester.
