Muscat: Two people who were missing at sea in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate have been found after a 10-day search, from beaches near Pakistan. They are in good health.
Speaking exclusively to Times of Oman, Hamad Al Jaafari from Al Ashkharah in the Wilayat of Ja’alan Bani Bu Ali in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, cousin of the missing people Ali and Salem Al Jaafari, said, “Salem called his brother Mohammed shortly before sunset via Soraya’s phone from one of the Pakistani ships reassuring him that he and Ali were fine and in good health, and they were found near the Pakistani shore."
Hamad continued: "Salim confirmed that a Pakistani ship had found them at sea, two days away from the Pakistani city of Karachi. He said that when they arrive in Karachi, they will contact them again."
Hamad spoke with tears of joy in his eyes: "I can't believe what I'm hearing. I received the news and I was in despair of finding my cousins. They have been missing for ten days since they left on June 9, 2022, and we had announced their loss. It is a miracle. We thank God that they are still alive."
Hamad Al-Jaafari expressed his deep thanks to the Royal Oman Police, represented by aviation and the coast guard, as well as all those who participated in the search for his cousins, Ali, aged 30, and Salem, aged 23.
