Temperatures likely to touch 50 degrees Celsius in Oman

Muscat: The temperatures are likely to continue increasing in the desert areas and could reach 50 degrees Celsius.

The General Directorate of Meteorology warned in a statement today that temperatures will continue to rise in the desert areas as the meteorological stations recorded high temperatures on Friday. The highest temperature recorded was 49 degrees Celsius in Fahoud, 48.8 degrees in Qarn Alam and 48.8 degrees in Al Mudhibi and 48 degrees in each of the wilayats of Ibri, Al-Qabil, Bahla. In the wilayat of Al-Sunina it was 47.7 degrees Censius and in Nizwa it was 47.6 degrees.
