Kempinski Hotel Muscat Welcomes Julien El Khal

Kempinski Hotel Muscat is proud to welcome and announce the appointment of Julien El Khal as the new Executive Chef at the hotel. In his new role, Chef Julien will be spearheading the culinary team, driving food and beverage at the hotel and uplifting restaurant offerings at the property.

He joins the Kempinski Hotel Muscat team from Marsa Malaz Kempinski in Doha, where he held the position of ClusterExecutive Chef from 2018 until present. During his successful career in Doha, he demonstrated successful leadership and helped nurture an award-winning culinary team that has been recognised as a top-rated unit in the region. He was also part of the pre-opening team for Marsa Malaz Kempinski in the year 2015, which includes 281 keys, 12 food and beverage venues and nine meeting spaces.

EAM in charge of Food and Beverage Mr Abbas Souki said, “We are delighted to welcome Chef Julien to the team. I am certain that with his culinary background and extensive experience, we will greatly strengthen the local culinary scene in Muscat to achieve the world-class standards that we are known for.”

Chef Julien is a classically trained Executive Chef with over 15 years of operational experience in Western, Oriental, continental and Mediterranean cuisines in internationally recognised luxury hotels and restaurant groups in Europe and the Middle East. He has been with Kempinski Hotels since 2014 but has previously held key positions in the culinary team in Beirut between 2009 and 2014, as well as in London, Cyprus, Dubai and Kuwait, to name a few. He was also Sous Chef at The Park Tower Knightsbridge (previously Sheraton Park Tower Hotel) in the UK from 2006 until 2009.

He has also participated in renowned award programmes, including Time Out Awards Doha, Food & Travel Awards Middle East and many more.
