Omani official elected as Chairman of United Nations Committee

Muscat: Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan has been elected as the Chairman of the Special Political and Decolonisation Committee of the United Nations.

Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement: "The United Nations General Assembly elects, by acclamation, His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan, the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, as Chairman of the Fourth Committee, 'Special Political and Decolonidation Committee' during the 77th session of the General Assembly."
