Technically ‘inaugurates’ their Women & Child Care facility
The state-of-the-art Apollo Super Specialty Hospital, which began operations in Al Hail recently, welcomed its first-ever newborn baby on June 1.
The Omani mother, Nawal Auwaid Al Shidi, gave birth to a healthy baby girl ushering in a new era of high quality care for all women and children at Apollo, Al Hail.
Launches Baby Care
The newborn’s arrival has also succeeded in technically launching the high-end Woman & Child Care facility at Apollo, which is under the care of Dr Shakeel Moinudhdin and Dr Jayapriya Sudhakar of the Paediatric and Neonatology Department.
The delivery was held under the supervision of the consultant Gynaecologist, Dr VandanaPandit, assisted by Dr Mahalakshmi Baskaran and Dr Roula Osama AlmahayniOBG specialists from the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Free consultation for a year
The medical team said that the infant and mother are doing well.
Marking the occasion, V.T Saileswaran, managing director, Apollo Hospitals, Oman, has offered a year’s free consultation for the baby.
Whole floor for women and children
A whole floor (the fifth floor), is dedicated to women and children with facilities such as Outpatient Departments for both Gynecology and Pediatrics, USG scans, treatment rooms, labour suites, well baby clinic and in-patient facility for mother and children.

“The division, which assists in the special journey towards motherhood, aims at covering everything from the time of conceiving and delivering in a professional and caring manner. It is a comprehensive one covering both antenatal care and delivery,” the team said.

An expectant mother can avail of the facilities at the fifth floor dedicated to women going through an important stage of their life. “She can have her consultations with Gynaecologists, perform scanning, have admission for delivery and receive professional child care, all in the same area, cocooned in an arena of comfort, care and convenience,” the team added.
Three world-class delivery suites
Apollo offers three world-class delivery suites overlooking the Arabian Sea. The department offers antenatal and postnatal care, painless childbirth and management of high-risk pregnancies as well as healthy family services. In addition, open and laparoscopic surgical procedures for cysts, myomas, fibroids, hysterectomies and C/S deliveries are routinely done as well if need be.
