Athletics: Emmet Jennings wins fifth race of Muscat Road Runners Summer Series

Muscat: Emmet Jennings emerged the overall winner in the fifth race of the Muscat Road Runners (MRR) Zawawi Colas Summer Series here recently.
The event, which attracted more than 70 runners, saw the participants race around the dusty hot tracks in the Airport Heights area.
Emmet Jennings took the top honours after completing the race in a time of 16:48.
Flash Gordon finished second 18:43 while Edward Black settled for the third place in 18:47.
Meanwhile, Birgit Schulz clocked 22:04 to finish first in the women’s section and 11th overall.
The winner of the Junior 3k race was Oliver in a time of 11:33 with Ronan second in 11:44 and Lucy third in 13:30.
The MRR thanked Summer Series sponsors Zawawi Colas as well as race directors and the volunteers for their support to the race.
