CBFS student bags first place in ESCWA research competition

Muscat: Aya Al-Balushi, a student of the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) won the first place in the prestigious Student Research Competition of the Arab Competition Forum organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The title of her research project was ‘Tech giants monopoly of the e-commerce.’  

The ESCWA announced the winners on a ceremony held at Oman Convention and Exhibitions Centre (OCEC) on May 24, 2022 and attended by Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion as well as the Secretary General of the Arab league.

Following CBFS were Sultan Qaboos University (in second place) and Buraimi University College (in third place).

Dr. Zahran Al Salti, Dean, CBFS, said: “I congratulate Aya on behalf of the entire College of Banking and Financial Studies  family. This is a proud moment for College of Banking and Financial Studies. This meritorious achievement was made possible by the efforts and hard work of Aya with the support and encouragement of her teachers and classmates.
