Omran to develop two parks in South Al Sharqiyah

Muscat: The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) signed today a cooperation agreement with the office of the Governor of South Al Sharqiyah to develop a number of tourism projects in different locations in the governorate.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiya, while it was signed on behalf of the Omran Group by Eng. Mohammed bin Salem Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Group's Board of Directors.

Under the agreement, Omran Group will provide technical support and supervision of the implementation of projects that will be developed in several phases in tourist destinations in the governorate.

The first phase will include the development of a park in the Suwayh area, with an area of more than 65,000 square meters, in addition to developing another park in the Ashkhara area, with a total area of about 14,000 square metres.

The two parks will include various tourist and recreational facilities such as food outlets, shops, children's play areas, and camping areas.

His Excellency Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah, said: “South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is witnessing the influx of many tourists from inside and outside the Sultanate due to the diversity and geographical variation it enjoys, which we seek in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism Heritage and various authorities to exploit in an optimal way that contributes to revitalizing the tourism movement in Governorate".
