Preparations for Salalah Khareef season reviewed
The preparations of all parties to serve visitors during the tourist season were reviewed and the availability of sufficient numbers of policemen were discussed.

Salalah: The Office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar held yesterday a meeting on the readiness of the departments concerned in Dhofar Governorate for the 2022 Khareef season. The meeting was chaired by Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.

The meeting reviewed all preparations of the departments concerned for serving the visitors during the tourism season. The review included the adequacy of personnel of Royal Oman Police concerned with traffic at all roads leading to Dhofar Governorate, providing the beaches with rescue teams and preserving safety and security of all visitors.

The meeting discussed enhancement of municipal services in all fields, including preparation of the information boards for the internal roads and the roads leading to the Governorate of Dhofar via the Wilayat of Thumrait and the coastal road through the Wilayat of Shaleem and Al Halaniyat Islands. The meeting reviewed the preparation of the locations proposed to host the activities accompanying the tourism season within and outside the Wilayat of Salalah.

The meeting stressed the significance of extending the working hours at some health centres to meet the increase in the number of visitors to Dhofar Governorate. The meeting stressed the importance of increasing the medical cadres in the Wilayat of Salalah, the health centres and emergency centres and the availability of adequate medicines and mobile health services (ambulances) along Adam-Thumrait Road and at the border centres.

They reviewed the preparations made in terms of residences and associated services, adequacy of food items in Salalah and other Wilayats of Dhofar Governorate, the readiness of telecommunication companies and electricity companies, and the roads leading to the tourism sites in Dhofar.

The meeting discussed the increase in the number of flights of Oman Air and Salam Air to meet the increasing number of visitors during the tourism season. The meeting also discussed compliance with the precautionary measures issued by Covid-19 Supreme Committee. 

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Muhana bin Saif Al Lamki, Deputy Governor of Dhofar, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality and a number of officials from the government and private sectors and the Office of the Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.
