Commercial harvesting of shrimp begins at farming project in Oman

Muscat: The commercial harvest process has begun for the shrimp farming project in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Hassan.

The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources said: “The start of the first commercial harvest for the shrimp farming project in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, where the project’s production is expected to reach an average of 400 tons per month.

This project is one of the most important pioneering projects of the Oman Fish Development Company in the aquaculture sector.  in the Sultanate of Oman.

The ministry added, "The total cost of the project amounted to OMR 20 million and is built on an area of ​​500 hectares, and the production capacity of this project, when fully operational, is expected to reach 4,600 tons per year by 2023."
