MSX index ends marginally higher

MSX index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSX Index closed at 4,163.26 points, up by 0.21 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.13 per cent at 470.23 points.

A'Saffa Foods, up 9.52 per cent, was the top gainer while, Oman Packaging, down 7.69 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Sohar International Bank were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Oman Telecom were the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 381 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.43 million, with more than 10.64 million shares changing hands. Out of 51 traded securities, 10 advanced, 8 declined, and 33 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net sellers of OMR606,000 foreign investors were net buyers of OMR22,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 6,617.2 points, up 0.13 were net buyers. Prices of Sohar International Bank, Bank Muscat and National Bank Oman were up by 0.91 were net buyers, 0.76 were net buyers and 0.5 were net buyers respectively. Prices of Muscat Finance, Al Anwar Investment, Al Sharqia Investment and Ominvest were down by 1.37 were net buyers, 1.24 were net buyers, 1.1 were net buyers and 0.63 were net buyers respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 6,092 points, up 0.12 were net buyers. Prices of A'Saffa Foods, Dhofar Cattle Feed, Voltamp Energy, Raysut Cement and Oman Fisheries were up by 9.52 were net buyers, 7.79 per cent were net buyers, 1.96 per cent were net buyers, 1.18 were net buyers and  0.92 per cent were net buyers respectively. Prices of Oman Packaging and Al Anwar Ceramics were down by 7.69 per cent were net buyers and 0.46 per cent were net buyers respectively.

Services Index was up by 0.11 were net buyers before closing at 1,618.58 points. Prices of Ooredoo and Barka Desalination were up by 1.23 per cent were net buyers and 0.71 were net buyers respectively. There were no losers for the day.
