ROP foils drug smuggling attempt

Muscat: A person has been arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP), for smuggling narcotics and psychotropic substances, while he was trying to leave the Sultanate of Oman through one of the ports.

The ROP reported that the Department for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substance, led by the Musandam Governorate Police, was able to arrest a person on charges of smuggling narcotics and psychotropic substances with the intention of trafficking and using them, while he was trying to leave the country through one of the ports with a quantity of hashish, crystal and drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, the Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations, led by the Police of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, seized large quantities of prohibited tobacco products in the possession of a person who stored them in a house. The legal procedures are being completed against him.
