OMRAN Group actively participates in Oman Tourism Forum

Continuing its efforts to stimulate the tourism sector and explore collaboration opportunities with international travel and tourism companies, Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), participated in Oman Tourism Forum which was launched by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The Forum was held on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), 2022 exhibition which took place in Dubai from 9 to 12 May.

This year’s participation of the Group has resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the National Travel and Tourism Operator ‘Visit Oman’ with “Beijing Spring Travel Services”, one of China's leading travel and tourism operators. The MoU’s terms focused on promoting Oman in the Chinese travel and tourism market; in addition to luring inbound tourism from China.  Linking the travel and tourism service providers and commercial customers to the local travel and tourism sector, the Visit Oman platform will provide the necessary value-added services to give an impetus to the sector.

During the Forum, the Group's CEO and a number of officials participated in the forum's discussion panels, which highlighted several important themes related to the growth of Oman's tourism sector. Furtherly, many of Group's hotels participated in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition, through showcasing products, services and packages.

Dr. Hashil Bin Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, emphasised the Group's continue’ commitment to building a supportive infrastructure for the sector and said, “Our participation at the Oman Tourism Forum, held on the side-lines of the Arabian Travel Market Exhibition, is part of our goal to boost Oman's tourism and promotion potential to various international markets. It has given us the opportunity to network and engage with regional and international pioneers in the travel and tourism sector. At the same time, we have also been able to showcase our forward-thinking investment strategies in a sector that's been steadily growing. This participation reflects the Group’s efforts to support the nation's desired ’tourism diversification by delivering a broad mix of value-added services.”

On the sidelines of the forum, Dr. Al Mahrouqi participated in a panel discussion on the growth of the hotel sector and partnership opportunities.  Eng. Said bin Salem Al Shanfari, CEO of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, participated in a panel discussion that emphasized opportunities for cooperation in the tourism, business and retail tourism sector, While Shabib bin Mohammed Al Mamari, Managing Director of Visit Oman, was also an active participant in the panel discussion on the role of partnerships in Oman's tourism sector.

The group's participation in this year's edition of the Arabian travel market was part of Oman's tourism sector delegation. It included a number of representatives working in Oman's tourism sector. This edition was marked by the launch of Oman Tourism Forum by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, which reflects efforts to promote Oman, as well as highlighting the most important future tourism projects and developments in the tourism sector to invite investors and those interested in the sector.

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022 is one of the largest specialized tourism exhibitions in the Middle East. It is considered as a meeting point for specialists, investors, entrepreneurs and those interested in the tourism industry in the region in general.

Based on its role in exploiting opportunities that contribute to enhancing the potential of the tourism sector, the Group is making tireless efforts to establish partnerships with tourism industry leaders, establishing its leading role in developing Oman's tourism landscape in line with the objectives of the National Tourism Strategy.
