Indian School Al Ghubra organises inaugural leadership seminar for students

Muscat: Indian School Al Ghubra organised a two-day leadership seminar on the 20th and 21st August 2017 for the Prefectorial Body and the members of the Student Council.
The seminar aimed to educate students about the tenets of leadership and illustrated the challenges that every effective leader must overcome.
The Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, inaugurated the seminar andemphasised the importance of inculcating a spirit of leadership and responsibility in the youth.
The first day saw two speakers, Mr. Said Ahmed al Badai, Deputy General Manager (Branches) of Bank Muscat; and Captain N. Hariharan, Defence Advisor to the Embassy of India who addressed the student leaders in a highly informative and vibrant session. Having climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and embarked on several grueling road trips through the desert, Mr. Badai inspired the students with many of his remarkable feats and shared with the students his novel strategy of APIC-Analysing, Preparing, Implementing and Control.
On day two of the leadership seminar, Mrs. Premila Ramesh, Director of Nrityanjali Dance Academy and a member of the International Council of Dance, and Mr. Nalin Chandna, the CEO of National Gas Company, shared with students their experiences as leaders in two diverse fields. Mrs. Premila Ramesh spoke about how her years of experience as a professional dancer has taught her the importance of motivation and empowerment. She accentuated the importance of striking a balance between tradition and modernity and that virtues and morality must be a good leader’s guiding lamp. Mr. Chandna who is a leadership trainer too, educated the students about the traits that every successful leader must embody and that success and perseverance always go hand-in-hand.
An interactive question answer followed the speakers’ presentations and students were given an opportunity to engage with the speakers on a personal level.
