Thunderstorms expected over parts of Oman

Muscat: Chances of thunderstorms accompanied by active downward winds and hail over parts of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, North and South Al Batinah.

Oman Meteorology said: “ Continuous formation of cumulus clouds over parts of North and South Al Batinah and Al Dakhiliyah, with chances of rain, thunderstorms at times, accompanied by active downward winds and hail.”

 Al Hajar Mountains may witness thunderstorms today, April 25, 2022, Oman Meteorology said on Monday.

"Cumulative clouds activity continues today, and isolated rain, sometimes thunderstorms, will fall on the Al Hajar Mountains during the afternoon and chances of the clouds extending to parts of the coasts of the Sea of Oman," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

The latest aerial images show the formation of thunder cells on parts of the Western Al Hajar Mountains (the mountains of North Al Batinah Governorate), chances of scattered thunderstorms at times, and clouds towards the coastal areas.
