Over 8,000 cases received by Public Prosecution in first quarter of 2022

Muscat: More than 8,000 cases have been submitted to the Public Prosecution during the first three months of 2022, according to the statistics published by the Public Prosecution.

The statistics issued by the Public Prosecution revealed that the number of cases received in the first quarter of this year reached 8,945 and the number of judicial orders issued by the Public Prosecution in the same period was 36,638. From January 2022 till March 2022, 860 judicial permissions were issued.

The number of investigation reports in the first quarter of 2022 reached 15,391, while the number of defendants reached 10,267. Public Prosecution issued 8,657 judicial decisions in three months.
 
The number of complaints received by public prosecution electronically from January 2022 till March 2022 was 1,864, therefore the number of requests received by the Auditor Service Department was 209.
