Muscat: ABQ Education Group is an official partner of this year’s Al Mouj Muscat Marathon to reiterate the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle amongst school children.
With Al Mouj Muscat Marathon now being held on the weekend of 11th and 12th November 2022, participants have the opportunity to train even more for this year’s race and it also gives them the option to level up by taking on a longer distance. ABQ Education Group is the race category partner for this year’s 1, 2 and 3km kids’ races which are open to children aged 7 to 12, aimed at the Sultanate’s younger runners.
With a few months to go before the race, ABQ Education Group, in association with Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, will be hosting an online competition from 14-27 April 2022applicable to the kids’ category participants. The competition entrants must name their favourite sport hero and give a reason for their answer. Three children will be selected to winan Acer Chromebook, based on their answers. Participants who have signed up for Al Mouj Muscat Marathon will receive the competition details from the organisers, but more information can also be found at www.abq.edu.om or on ABQ’s social media pages.
ABQ Education Group Chief Executive Officer, Humayun Kabir says, “In a time where students rely more on technology to complete their schoolwork, this is the ideal prize for anyone now completing the final months of their current school year. The pandemic has inspired new ways of learning and it resulted in a very exciting time for technology and education. With all students back on campus, digital platforms should be seen as an extension of the excellent traditional forms of learning available.”
The Marathon organizer, Sabco Sports’ Managing Director, Nic Cartwright, says, “This is an opportunity for Al Mouj Muscat Marathon children to express their passion towards fitness and get rewarded for their efforts. This is a great initiative by ABQ Education Group to bolster the importance of health, sport and fitness among the youth of Oman at grassroots level.”
