Over 475 Omani workers laid off in Oman

Muscat: Over 475 Omani workers have been laid off from various private sector establishments operating in the Sultanate of Oman during the period from January 1 till March 16, 2022.

According to the General Federation of Oman Works (GFOW), more than 475 workers from the national workforce in private sector establishments were terminated or notified of their services, during the period January 1 till March 16, 2022. Of those, 259 people were laid off in contracting and construction sector, 102 in commerce and industry sector, 94 in oil and gas sector and 20 in water, electricity and telecommunications sector.
