Muscat: Residents who filmed each other drifting their cars ended up with jail terms, heavy fines and their licences revoked, the Royal Oman Police have revealed.
The shared footage resulted in hundreds of rials in fines and the revoking of licences, according to the Directorate of Traffic at the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
"A primary court in Wilayat Nakhal found defendants guilty of drifting their vehicles, and sentenced them to a month in jail," according to the ROP.
The punishment also included a OMR300 fine, confiscation of the two vehicles and revoking of licences, a spokesman added.
