OCCI receives Czech business delegation

Muscat: Eng. Ridha Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) on Sunday received a business delegation from the Czech Republic, headed by Dr. Petr Mixa, Deputy Director General of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS).

The meeting discussed means of enhancing the balance of trade. It also reviewed fields of cooperation and partnership in the investment sectors, such as mining sector, as well as exchanging expertise and knowledge transfer in light of Oman Vision 2040.

The OCCI Chairman explained that the meeting came to strengthen relations and expand their horizons to serve the interests of the two countries, besides promoting trade and investment relations. He added that the meeting aimed to accelerate signing commercial partnerships and qualitative investments to serve the economic sectors.

The OCCI Chairman also pointed out that the economy of the Sultanate of Oman and that of the the Czech Republic include many promising opportunities. He added that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries in 2021 reached more than OMR6.659 million, while the volume of imports amounted to more than OMR797,600.

The volume of exports exceeded OMR5.862 million. Medicines and medical solutions are the most important exports from Oman to the Czech Republic, while Oman imports cars and machinery parts.

Dr. Mixa, reviewed investment opportunities in the Czech Republic, in addition to cooperation opportunities in various economic sectors.

On the sidelines of the visit, B2B meetings were held between the Omani businesspersons and their Czech counterparts. These meetings aim to exchange experiences and commercial opportunities, as well as encouraging business owners to establish commercial partnerships that enhance trade exchange between the two countries.
