National University of Science and Technology celebrates graduation of 1700 graduands from Medicine, Engineering and Pharmacy

National University of Science and Technology celebrates graduation of 1700 graduands from Medicine, Engineering and Pharmacy

Muscat: On the 23rd of March 2022, the National University of Science and Technology (NU) have proudly honoured 1704 graduants at the 2022 graduation ceremony which was heldat Madinat Al Irfan Theatre, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The ceremonies were held in two sessions; the morning session was under the patronage of HE Dr. Madiha Ahmed Nasser Al Shaibani, Minister of Education and the evening session was under the patronage of HE Prof Mahad Ba awain Minister of Labour.  

The ceremony, in both sessions, started with the national anthem followed by the recitation of the Holley Quran. The Pro Chancellor and Chair of University Executives Board P. Mohamed Ali has welcomed the gathering, congratulated the parents and sponsors, and advised the graduants to continue learning and developing themselves so to play their role effectively in the society.

The VC Dr Ali Al Bimani and the academic affiliates have also congratulated the graduats and urged them to trust the knowledge and training they have obtained and serve the industries and the community with proud and confidence.

In the ceremonies, 101 students received the special awards from the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy and Engineering for their excellence academic achievements and contribution in enhancing students’ overall experience in the campuses. The awards included: Academic Excellence Award PG (2 students), Academic Excellence Award UG (7 students), Meritorious/ High Honors and Honors Awards (83 students) and the Citizenship Award (9 students).

With an eye targeting the future, the NU shapes its vision in order to become an internationally recognized and renowned academic institution for education and research fostered by social values. The University have made significant progress towards higher ranking locally, regionally and internationally.

Dignitaries, ambassadors and the members of the Board of Trustees have attended the ceremony. The Chief Guests were honoured by the Pro Chancellor and Chair UEB  P. Mohammed Ali and the VC Dr Ali Al Bimani.

Finally, the ceremonies were concluded by a vote of thanks by Dr Salim Khamis Al Araimi, DVCP of the University where he appreciated the presence of all the attendees and the quality of NU events committee work in making both of ceremonies exceptionally unforgettable events.
