Oxy Oman representatives recently attended the SQU Photo Society Week, which was organized by the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) Photo Society and sponsored by Oxy Oman. The Photo Society Week included a photography competition and exhibition, and is among a group of activities the Photo Society is conducting for the 2021/2022 academic year, all of which Oxy Oman is exclusively sponsoring.
The weeklong event showcased student photography through a public exhibition at the university, and hosted a competition and awards event for winning photos in several categories.
The awards event was held at the SQU Exhibition and Conference Hall under the auspices of Dr. Nasser bin Mosbeh Al-Zaidi, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs at SQU. Nasser Al Maskari, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Oxy Oman attended the event, along with other senior representatives of the company.
This marks Oxy Oman’s second consecutive year of sponsoring the SQU Photo Society. The Society regularly hosts workshops, trips, and exhibitions to promote the art of photography, and to raise art awareness and emerging talents in Oman.
“We’re very excited to support the SQU Photo Society, as we celebrate the creativity and talent being showcased through this week. Oxy Oman has always placed innovation as a fundamental pillar of our social responsibility goals, and we hope to encourage students and participants to continue developing their skills and expertise in the arts,” said Stephen Kelly, President and General Manager at Oxy Oman.
This sponsorship falls under Oxy Oman’s umbrella of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders, and is part of Oxy Oman’s endeavor and long-term commitment to support programs that enhance economic growth and sustainable development and that yield positive impacts in the neighboring communities.
