3-5 star hotel revenues reach OMR 12 million in January 2022

Muscat : The total revenues of hotels rated (3 to 5 stars) in the Sultanate of Oman have exceeded OMR 12 million in January 2022.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that the monthly statistical bulletin of tourism indicators issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed a significant increase in the total revenues of hotels rated 3 to 5 stars by 91.6 per cent during January 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, reaching OMR 12,264,000.

The total number of  guests at hotels rated 3 to 5 stars also recorded an increase of 19.1 per cent during January 2022 compared to January 2021, reaching 97,956 guests, while the occupancy rate was 51.3 per cent during January 2022.

The number of European during January 2022 recorded the largest growth in the number of guests by 641.5 per cent from 3,584 in January 2021 to 26,571 in January 2022, followed by Gulf guests whose number grew by 270.6 per cent from 1,497 during the January 2021 to 5,548 guests during January 2022.

The number of Omani guests decreased by 24.9 per cent from 60,759 in January 2021 to 45,628 in January 2022, and the number of Asian guests decreased by 3.2 percent from 9,531 in January 2021 to 9,223 in January 2022.
