Muscat: Omani rally driver Zakaria Al Amri along with his navigator Mohamed Al Amri is looking forward for action in the Kuwait International rally.
He will be participating in the third round of MERC in his group(N), in the three-day rally starting on 17 of this month on Subaru Impreza (N14).
Al Amri is currently at the second position of group N in the championship after finishing Qatar International rally second behind the Kuwaiti driver Meshari Al Thefairi.
Al Thefiri jumped to R5 in Kuwait international rally this time behind the Skoda Fabia. Al Almri has the chance to lead the group if he finishes the rally on top.
The rally, which will resume after 3 years of stoppage due to the Covid pandemic and cancellation in 2019, will consist of 10 special stages, two of them in desert area.
Young Omani driver Abdullah Al Rawahi who is standing in second place overall in MERC behind the Qatari Super Man Nasser Al Attyah will try to continue his excellent performance and to be at top of this rally also.
Al Amri who is supported by Oman United insurance, Oman united Insurance workshop and Al Fayha real estate development has stated that he is working with his team for the rally and has prepared his for the desert and sandy stages.
“I am happy to be a part of Kuwait International rally, thanks to the supporters and my team to make this participation happen. Really, looking forward to this race. This is my first time in Kuwait international rally , and hoping for good end and trying my best to finish the rally first and aiming to be on top podium,” Al Amri said.
He added: “ I will do whatever I can to attend this season of MERC championship if I get enough support, and as you know automobile sport is a very costly. You cannot do anything without sponsorship.”
