Oman Cricket announces start date for D10 League

Muscat: Oman Cricket is pleased to announce that the long-awaited inaugural edition of the D10 league in partnership with ITW ProdG, will commence on March 12, 2022. All the matches will be played on Turf 1 of the Oman Cricket Academy Ground with a round-robin format employed for the entire league stage.

Speaking on the launch, Pankaj Khimji, Chairman of Oman Cricket said, “ITW and Oman Cricket had a phenomenal run with the D20 league. The tournament far exceeded our expectations and now we feel very excited for the forthcoming D10 edition which I’m sure will surpass expectations even further – both from the players’ perspective and from the team owners’ perspective. We at Oman Cricket are thrilled to experiment with various new forms of local leagues and I wish everyone all the very best.”

The D10 tournament will be contested by the same 8 teams that took part in the D20 tournament last December - namely Qurum Thunders, Amerat Royals, Azaiba XI, Bousher Busters, Khuwair Warriors, Ghubrah Giants, Darsait Titans and the winners Ruwi

Rangers. The point of major difference as the name suggests, will be the format, with each innings consisting of 10 overs instead of 20.

All the 35 games of the D10 league will be shown live on FanCode - the premier destination for sports fans in India. In addition, it will also be carried by Sports Eye (a regional cricket broadcasting portal) and other premium platforms globally.
