Colombo: Eng. Ridha Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) met with Viraj Dayaratne, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC).
The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and Sri Lanka in the fields of securities and exchanging expertise.
The OCCI Chairman also met with Eng. M. K. Lawrance, Executive Director of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
Eng. Lawrance gave a presentation on investment opportunities and incentives, as well as the future projects that the Sri Lankan side intends to implement during the coming period.
Then, the OCCI chairman and the business delegation toured a factory specialised in ready-made wear. They were briefed on the production stages and the technology used in the factory.
The company's officials expressed their desire to enter a partnership with the Omani investors through establishing a similar factory in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as benefiting from the US-Oman Free Trade Agreement.
