‘Shabab Oman II’ embarks on peace trip

Muscat: Oman’s flagship yacht left port on Monday morning on another voyage of sharing the Sultanate’s message of peace and friendship around the world.
A naval guard of honour and the band of the Royal Navy of Oman was there to witness The ‘Shabab Oman II’ departing from its berth in Said bin Sultan Naval Base in Al Mussanah and heading for Salalah as the first port of call, according to the voyage
organisers.
The departure ceremony of the ‘Shabab Oman II’ on its fourth international peace and goodwill mission involved a group of fishing boats as well as the Maritime Arts Band and schoolchildren from the surrounding area.
Also bidding farewell to the ship was Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Secretary General of the Sultanate’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ceremony organisers took a commemorative photo of Bader bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the crew of the ‘Shabab Oman II’ and the trainees participating in the journey
of peace.
A group of fishermen were also present with their boats to bid farewell to the ship.
