Muscat: One Omani Rial is now worth even more when exchanged for Indian Rupees, after the currency crossed the INR 200 mark this morning.

According to currency converter XE.com, one Omani Rial can be exchanged for INR 200.532.

The Rupee exchange rate has been on a downward trajectory for many years now: in March 2012, one Omani Rial was worth INR 129, but the value of the Indian Rupee has steadily fallen since then.

The Omani Rial – Indian Rupee exchange rate was around INR 175 in January 2017, and went on an even sharper downward decline with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2020, the exchange rate crossed the INR 200 mark for the first time in 10 years, before fluctuating between INR 198 and 192 for most of the pandemic until now.
