Oman's share index closes higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 4,011.58 points, up by 0.52 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 546.28 points, down by 0.75 per cent. Sohar International Bank was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Ominvest, up 5.77 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Oman Fisheries, which lost 9.59 per cent.

A total number of 996 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3 million with more than 26.08 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 19 declined and 14 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR343,000 followed by foreigners investors for OMR66,000 worth of shares, while GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR409,000.

Financial Index closed higher by 0.86 per cent at 6,525.48 points. Ominvest, Sohar International Bank, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Al Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were up by 5.77 per cent, 4.5 per cent, 3.7 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding, Al Madina Investment, Global Financial Investment, Gulf Invest Services Holding and Al Omaniya Financial Ser. were down by 7.78 per cent, 6.67 per cent, 6.25 per cent, 6.25 per cent and 5.93 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index was lower by 1.17 per cent at 4,855.67 points Dhofar Cattle Feed and Oman Flour Mills were up by 3.41 per cent and 0.77 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries, Raysut Cement, Oman Cement, Galfar Engineering and Majan Glass were down by 9.59 per cent, 6.91 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 1 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively.



Services Index closed at 2,008.31 points, down by 0.04 per cent. OIFC, Muscat City Desalination, Renaissance Services, Almaha Petroleum Products and Ooredoo were up by 4.82 per cent, 4.55 per cent, 0.99 per cent, 0.97 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services, Muscat Gases, Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power and Phoenix Power were down by 4.58 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively. — United Securities
