MUSCAT: Sakshi Vijaya struck a superb 78 off 66 in the Women’s League T20 final to help Oman Women Cricket Academy (OWCA) to a solid 47-run win over Indian Social Club (ISC) and a much-deserved title triumph at Oman Cricket Turf 1 in Amerat on Monday.
OWCA ended up leading the table with 8 points from five games followed by runner-up ISC having 6 points from five matches and third-placed Muscat Women with 6 points from five.
Batting first, OWCA made a steady progress to reach 157 for 2 in 20 overs thanks to a wonderful 138-run second-wicket partnership between Sakshi and Nayan Anil who scored an excellent 67 not out off 57.
ISC struggled for the fluency it usually shows and had to be content with a disappointing 110 for 6, Suhani Dadhwal (35) and Priyanka Mendonca (31) being its main scorers.
