Oman's ministry stamps precious metals worth more than OMR70,000

Muscat: A total of 3,444 kg of gold, silver and platinum handicrafts worth more than OMR70,000 were stamped during the second quarter of 2017.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), represented by the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology plays a major role in the control of precious metals and precious stones to curb illegal practices and protect the consumer and trader from frauds, in addition to encouraging the precious metals industry and preserving it as a legacy of the Sultanate and eliminating customs evasion.
