Tiger Woods wins first Major in 11 years

NEW YORK: 14 years after Tiger Woods won his last Augusta Masters, the ace golfer ended his 11-year drought to win it again.

Woods won the Masters by one shot with a final score of minus 13, to earn his fifth green jacket, the blazer given to the traditional winner of the Augusta Masters for over 70 years.

"14 years after his last victory at Augusta National, Tiger Woods leads The Masters," said the organisers.

Woods had previously said while speaking to the media: "“I feel like I can win. I’ve proven that I can do it and I put myself there with a chance to win the last two major championships of the year last year. I was right there and just needed to have a couple more things to go my way and not throw away a couple of shots here and there."
