Dubai: Within the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the Sultanate of Oman and the United States, the General Commission of the Sultanate Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Omani -US Forum, in the presence the mega Dubai-based US companies.
The forum aimed to shed light on the projects, available investment opportunities and the incentives offered by the Sultanate to investors in the various sectors along with exploring the opportunities FTA offers to Omani businessmen.
A number of officials from Oman Investment Authority (OIA), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reviewed the various investment opportunities available at all industrial cities.
Leslie M. Tsou, the US ambassador accredited to the Sultanate praised the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, which she described as strategic and deep-rooted. She also spoke on the FTA signed between the Sultanate of Oman and the US in 2009 and the contributions of the FTA to development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The forum was attended by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Mohsin bin Khamis Al Balushi, Advisor at the Ministry and Commissioner General of the Sultanate’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and Meghan Gregonis, the US Consul General in Dubai, UAE.
