COVID-19: Oman's Consulate in Australia issues statement for university students

Muscat: The Consulate General of the Sultanate of Oman in Australia has issued a statement for Omani students who are studying at Western Australian universities.

"The Consulate General would like to inform students of the recent decision of the Australian local government in Western Australia, to allow scholarship students studying at Western Australian universities to return to study in the university campus, by following one of the following two ways :

1. Travel directly to the State of Western Australia, after obtaining the approval of the local government of the State of Western Australia to enter the territory of Western Australia within the programme of the international travellers cap allowed to travel to the State of Western Australia per week.

OR

2. Travelling to Western Australia through one of the other Australian states," the Consulate General of the Sultanate of Oman in Australia said in a statement.

The Consulate General added that in both cases travellers must fulfill the following conditions:

1. Obtaining an entry permit for the territory of the state of Western Australia (G2G pass). In the submitted application, it is required to specify the housing details for the quarantine period.

2. Submit an approved certificate proving that the traveller has received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the event that the traveller is eligible to receive the third/booster dose, and is also within the age group that fulfills the conditions for receiving the third/booster dose.

3- Submission of the result of a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) proving that the traveller is free of Covid-19, provided that the examination is conducted within a period of time not exceeding 24 hours from the date of departure.

4. Subject to home quarantine for a period of seven days, starting from the day following the date of arrival in Western Australia.

5-. Conducting a (PCR) or (RAT) examination after 24 hours from the date of arrival, as well as on the seventh day of quarantine, provided that the result of the examination is negative .

6. Download the (G2G) application on the phone that may be requested by some government and private institutions when visiting, as well as the Australian Police to check the health status of the individual.
