Doha: Rally driver Zakaria Al Amri on Subaru Impreza N14 ended Qatar International Rally on a high when he clinched the second place in Group N with his Navigator Mohamed Al Amri and finished fifth overall after strong performance and pace during 10 stages of the Qatari International Rally.
Talking about the race, Al Amri expressed his gladness after conquering very rough terrain which was difficult for navigation during the 2-day race. He said that he did his best to be at the podium with the best result at least in his group, and a lot of efforts were made by the team to make this podium happen.
During the rally, Zakaria said that he pushed as much as he could on the first day with some caution as the stage was hard in some areas and slippery at other places, and we had some mechanical problems but we overcame these issues at the proper time. He said that we got better timing in our group in front of Abu Shurfa and Abu Jamoos from Jordan behind Mishari Al Thufiari who won the group title.
Zakaria Al Amri said: “I am really thankful to my team and the mechanics for their support and hard work and special thanks goes to Oman United Insurance and Oman United Insurance garage and Alfaiha Real Estate for their support to my participation in MERC this year”.
